That album has now arrived. Recorded live in Italy on New Year’s Day 2004, "Ruby, My Dear" finds Galliano and the New York Trio in peak form, playing Galliano’s originals and interpreting the music of Thelonious Monk, Oscar Pettiford, Carlos Almaran Eleta and even Erik Satie. The album, co-produced by Galliano and Francis Dreyfus, is dedicated to the recently departed French novelist Fran?oise Sagan. "Her fragile and emotional touch is quite similar to my music, in the way I play," says Galliano of Sagan.
