I was born in prison was given birth in ball and chains

Grew up a prisoner my whole life I had been enslaved

Every action every thought restricted by restraints

Did what I was forced to do a product of my cage

Until the day I looked down at my hands

Saw them shackles on my wrist

Saw the bars around my life and knew that this aint all there is

Focused my energy balled my hands up into fists

Shattered my shackles ripped my cage up into bits

I stood there for a second not knowing what to do

The first time that a choice was mine beyond all I had ever knew

First time I had felt it the strength of being free

From that moment all I ever did was up to me

Grabbed life with my two hands ran with it

Any chance came my way man did it

To the fullest and greatest extent

Living like I aint ever gonna be here again

Man's travelled

Man's journeyed

Man got back what I earned me

Seeing things that I've never seen

Going places I chose to be

I've climbed mountains

Sailed seas

Stood on trees on rainforest canopies

Looked down on the clouds from above

High flying with no plane no drugs

I've watched the sun setting slow above the Himalayas

Blessing my soul and my spirit with some inner layers

Built with soldiers scholars sages

From different places races ages

Learnt from each phase each stage

Embraced the lessons life gave

New lands new cultures new peoples

We all want freedom we equal

One life one love one blood

Only man made barriers dividing us up

Got back to Mama Africa

Blood I made it home

Never felt that way before or since

Anywhere I've roamed

To touch the land with my own hand where my family tree was grown

Blessed by the most high with this freedom

The greatest gift I've ever known

Shook off all mistakes all my fears all my regrets

They only stay with me as scars to look at

Who I am and where I'm from while I choose where I'm going
